Line MORDECAI
LIGHTER, BETTER, FASTER, FUNNER
One could say that the Mordecai replaced the Pollard's Opus.... One that has skied the Mordecai would say who cares about the old Opus, this is way sicker! What makes the Mordecai so much better is how well the shape, core and rocker-camber profile work together. Line developed the Cloud Core, an all new core for 2016 that is much lighter than the previous Maple Macroblock that was in the Opus. Though the Mordecai is lighter, the core has enough integrity to handle the most demanding situations you put your skis in.
The float is a bit better in the Mordecai even though the waist is 4mm narrower, the lighter core does a better job staying on top of the snow in conjunction with a killer shape (141-114-138) and 9mm of rocker.
Buying Tip: The Mordecai is great for skiers that love wide skis. It's a ski that you can still rail on the front side, though it feels a little different having a symmetric flex -- most skis are directional. Buy this if you love wide skis and want a light weight surfy ski.
Construction:
Sidewall - A full length sidewall provides maximum durability and edge hold. The Ultra density polyethylene ensures a smooth consistent feeling ride.
Core:
Cloud Core - Blended wood and composite materials make the Sir Francis Bacon a more versatile backcountry and touring ski.
Shape:
Early Rise - Tip and tail early rise provide the skis with superior float in powder, as well as effortless turn initiation in any snow condition.
